Galatians 6:9
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
NIV
Part of the apostle Paul's letter to the churches in the southern area of the Roman province of Galatia some time between AD 48 and 57. As is all of God's word, this is very relevent to us today, and specifically for us in law enforecment.
After a 10 hour shift of helping those that God has called us to help, we can become burnt out or weary as Paul puts it. By the time we get home to our families, we have nothing left for them. This, in my experience, can lead to snapping at our spouses and children. If this goes unchecked it leads to stress on our most important relationships.
Let us not forget God's promise;"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me";Phillipians 4:13 We need to be in God's word and in prayer to allow him to strengthen us. God has called us into the ministry of law enforcement, He will give us strength so that we wont become weary in our mission and with our families.
